Residents of Mastic Beach will have an opportunity later this month to learn more about a proposed transformation of a long-abandoned waterfront site into a new ecology and arts destination known as Violet Cove.![]()

The Mastic Beach Conservancy has been advancing plans to redevelop a former restaurant property along the Great South Bay into an environmental education and cultural space. A public meeting scheduled for March 18, 2026 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mastic Beach Property Owners Association building will provide residents with updates on the project and an opportunity to ask question.
